While it appears there aren’t many publicly traded companies on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) that are purely coffee companies, there are some listed companies with significant coffee-related operations or offerings:
* Gourmet Master Co Ltd (2723.TWO): This company operates the well-known 85°C Bakery Cafe chain, which is a significant player in the coffee shop market in Taiwan, alongside its bakery products. It is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
* Uni-President Enterprises Corp. (1216.TWO): This is a large food and beverage conglomerate in Taiwan. While not exclusively a coffee company, it has a substantial presence in the beverage market, including coffee products. They were also involved in a joint venture with Starbucks in Taiwan, which they later fully acquired with President Chain Store Corp.
* President Chain Store Corp. (2912.TWO): Primarily known for operating 7-Eleven convenience stores in Taiwan, these stores also have a significant coffee business. President Chain Store Corp. was also part of the joint venture that acquired full ownership of Starbucks’ operations in Taiwan.
It’s important to note that some other companies listed on the TWSE might have smaller coffee-related businesses as part of a broader portfolio of food and beverage products. However, the companies listed above have a more prominent presence in the coffee market in Taiwan.
Additionally, Louisa Professional Coffee Ltd., which is the largest coffee shop chain in Taiwan, had its shares jump significantly when it debuted on the Emerging Stock Market in Taiwan in September 2021. The Emerging Stock Market is a platform for companies that are not yet eligible for the main Taiwan Stock Exchange.
Therefore, while you might not find a company solely focused on coffee production or sales on the main Taiwan Stock Exchange, companies with significant coffee retail operations or coffee as part of their broader offerings are indeed listed.
