Archax, a UK-based regulated digital asset exchange, brokerage, and custodian, is strategically expanding its footprint into Europe. This expansion is facilitated by its acquisition of the Spanish broker King & Shaxson Capital Markets (KSCM), which will be rebranded as Archax Markets Europe, S.A.
Subject to customary regulatory approvals in Spain, this acquisition will grant Archax the ability to extend its regulated brokerage, Multi-Lateral Trading Facility (MTF), and custody services into the European Union. This move is particularly significant as it will position Archax favorably for the upcoming implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation in the EU.
Furthermore, Archax plans to add crypto derivatives to its service offerings within Europe, leveraging the permissions gained through the KSCM acquisition. This will broaden the range of digital asset services available to institutional clients in the EU through a regulated framework.
This European expansion follows Archax’s recent acquisition of the US-based broker-dealer Globacap Private Markets, Inc., which will be renamed Archax Markets US. These strategic acquisitions demonstrate Archax’s ambition to establish a global regulatory footprint, extending beyond its existing UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) authorizations. Additionally, Archax has recently established a technology hub in Dubai under an Innovation License, further demonstrating its global expansion strategy.
