BitMEX has significantly expanded its crypto derivatives offerings in recent months, introducing a range of new products and features designed to enhance trading flexibility and opportunities for its users.
Key recent developments include:
* New Futures Contracts: BitMEX listed a new Bitcoin-margined futures contract, XBTN25, on May 27, 2025, with an expiry date of July 25, 2025. This contract offers up to 100x leverage and is cash-settled.
* Expansion of Perpetual Swaps: BitMEX has been actively listing new perpetual swap contracts. Recent additions in May 2025 include SOPHUSDT, AUSD, AUSDT, and MOONPIGUSDT.
* Increased Altcoin Options: In February 2025, BitMEX launched 20 new altcoin options contracts, offering traders exposure to a diverse range of cryptocurrencies like Litecoin (LTC), SUI, Chainlink (LINK), and AAVE. This expansion brought the total number of options pairs available to 26, and BitMEX aims to provide deep liquidity and low slippage for these options.
* Multi-Asset Margining: As of January 2025, BitMEX introduced Multi Asset Margining, allowing traders to use multiple margin currencies, including USDT, USDC, ETH, and XBT, to trade derivatives contracts without the need for constant asset conversions. This streamlines the trading process and enhances capital efficiency.
* XRP as Margin Collateral: BitMEX added XRP to its Multi Asset Margining program in May 2025, enabling traders to use XRP as collateral for derivatives trading, which increases the utility of XRP within the BitMEX ecosystem.
* AI-Powered VIP Trading Reports: In partnership with Hoc-trade, BitMEX launched new AI-driven personalized trading performance reports for its VIP traders on May 28, 2025. These reports offer in-depth, customized analysis of trading behaviors to help traders optimize their strategies.
* Integration with TradingView: BitMEX integrated its crypto derivatives trading platform with TradingView in April 2025, allowing users to access and trade over 200 derivatives products directly from TradingView charts.
While BitMEX has expanded its offerings, it has also undertaken a review of less liquid contracts, delisting 10 derivatives contracts on May 23, 2025, to maintain a focused and efficient trading environment. These expansions demonstrate BitMEX’s ongoing commitment to providing a comprehensive and evolving platform for crypto derivatives traders.Video courtesy of IPO-VID In Patrick’s Opinion
