    The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced on June 18, 2025, that its central securities depository subsidiary, The Depository Trust Company (DTC), has surpassed $100 trillion in assets under custody. This significant milestone reflects the continued growth of the U.S. market capitalization.
    Between 2020 and 2025, DTC experienced substantial growth across various asset classes, leading to a 37% overall increase in assets under custody:
    * Equities: Grew by 49%, from $49.6 trillion in 2020 to $74.1 trillion in 2025.
    * Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs): Within equities, ETFs saw a remarkable 100% increase, doubling from $5.5 trillion to $11 trillion.
    * Money Market Instruments: Increased by 28%, from $3.2 trillion to $4.1 trillion.
    In total, DTC’s assets under custody climbed from $73.5 trillion in 2020 to $100.3 trillion in 2025.
    Frank La Salla, DTCC President and CEO, stated that “This milestone is more than a measure of scale; it’s testament to the trust the financial industry places in DTCC and our responsibility to soundness and safety.” Brian Steele, Managing Director and President, DTCC Clearing & Securities Services, further added that “DTCC has played a critical role in the financial markets for decades, enabling it to scale and grow while ensuring resiliency and safety.”
    DTC, founded in 1973, provides custody and servicing for over 1.44 million securities issues from more than 170 countries and territories, playing a crucial role in reducing market risk and operational costs through settlement automation.
