    Reasons for Delisting:
Companies can be delisted for various reasons, including:
    * Failure to meet minimum listing requirements: This often involves the minimum bid price of $1.00 per share, minimum market capitalization, or minimum stockholders’ equity. Nasdaq has become more stringent on these requirements.
    * Regulatory or non-compliance issues: Failure to file required financial reports or other regulatory issues can lead to delisting.
    * Voluntary delisting: Companies may choose to delist due to mergers, acquisitions, going private, or strategic shifts.
    * Bankruptcy: Filing for bankruptcy can also result in delisting.
    Nasdaq’s Delisting Process:
When a company fails to meet Nasdaq’s listing standards, Nasdaq typically issues a deficiency notice. The company is then given a period to regain compliance. Recent rule changes have accelerated the delisting process in certain situations, especially for companies that have performed a reverse stock split within the past year to regain compliance with the minimum bid price rule and subsequently fall out of compliance again.
If a company does not regain compliance within the specified timeframe, Nasdaq will issue a delisting letter. The company can request a hearing to appeal this decision, which can temporarily halt the delisting process. However, if the appeal is unsuccessful, the company’s stock is delisted from Nasdaq, and it may trade on the over-the-counter (OTC) market.
For the most up-to-date information, you can refer to the “Issues Pending Suspension or Delisting” and “Noncompliant Companies” sections on the Nasdaq website. The SEC’s website also provides information through Form 25 filings, which are notifications of removal from listing.
