LiquidityBook, a FactSet company and a leading provider of cloud-native trading solutions, has announced that its buy-side clients can now access 24-hour equity trading. This means institutional investors using LiquidityBook’s platform can trade U.S. equities around the clock, five days a week, specifically from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM ET, Sunday through Thursday.
This expanded trading capability is made possible through an integration with Blue Ocean ATS, an alternative trading system designed for overnight trading of U.S. National Market System (NMS) stocks, and is supported by introducing broker Capital Institutional Services (CAPIS), which provides access and clearing services.
Key aspects and benefits of this offering include:
* Around-the-clock market access: This addresses a longstanding demand from buy-side firms for the ability to react to global market-moving news and events in real time, regardless of traditional market hours.
* First OMS to offer institutional overnight trading: LiquidityBook claims to be the first Order Management System (OMS) to provide this capability to the institutional market.
* Operational efficiencies and transparency: Leveraging Blue Ocean ATS, clients benefit from a fully electronic and transparent system for overnight trading.
* Seamless integration: The collaboration eliminates the need for clients to piece together external workarounds for overnight trading.
* Expanded connectivity: LiquidityBook clients can also connect to over 1,600 routing destinations in 80+ countries via its proprietary FIX network, LBX Connect.
This move by LiquidityBook is part of a broader industry trend towards extended trading hours, enabling market participants to adjust strategies and capitalize on global developments more quickly.
