Coinbase has announced it will delist four cryptocurrencies in June 2025: Render (RNDR), Ribbon Finance (RBN), Helium Mobile (MOBILE), and Synapse (SYN). The suspension of trading for these tokens will begin on June 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
The primary reason for these delistings is that newer versions of these tokens are now available, and the older versions no longer meet Coinbase’s listing standards. As crypto projects evolve, they often switch networks, upgrade their blockchains, or issue new token versions. When these changes occur, exchanges like Coinbase may cease support for the original versions if they no longer align with their listing requirements.
While trading for these tokens will be suspended, users will still be able to withdraw them to an external wallet. Coinbase regularly reviews assets to ensure they meet its standards and typically provides users with sufficient time to manage their holdings before delisting. However, Coinbase has not yet disclosed whether it will provide support for the updated versions of these tokens or if it will automatically upgrade the original tokens for users.
Delistings can impact the price and liquidity of the affected cryptocurrencies, as it becomes harder to buy or sell them on a major exchange like Coinbase. While the immediate impact can be negative, continued support on other exchanges might limit long-term price drops.
