KBRA, a global full-service credit rating agency, has announced the opening of its first Asia-Pacific office in Tokyo, Japan. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in KBRA’s ongoing international expansion and reflects its substantial growth in recent years, particularly as a leader in rating private credit and fund finance instruments.
The new Tokyo office aims to strengthen KBRA’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region and deepen its ties with both existing Asia-based clients and Japan’s sophisticated private credit and capital markets investor base. Tokyo is the latest addition to KBRA’s growing global footprint, which now includes seven offices across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
To support its operations in Japan, KBRA has made key hires:
    * Yuuichi Hino joins as Head of Compliance for Japan, bringing extensive experience in the country’s regulatory environment.
    * Miki Monroe-Sheridan has been appointed Head of Business Development, responsible for engaging with local market participants and strengthening regional partnerships.
    * Peter Connolly, a Senior Director in the Structured Credit team, will relocate from KBRA’s New York office to Tokyo to provide analytical coverage and client engagement.
KBRA stated that the Tokyo office will enable them to provide the APAC region’s expanding group of institutional investors with their research, independent insights, and data-driven analysis in private credit and other sectors. KBRA Japan is currently seeking regulatory authorization in the country.
