* Optiver: A global market maker specializing in derivatives.
* Goldman Sachs Group Inc.: A multinational investment bank and financial services company.
* Virtu Financial: A leading financial services firm that uses technology to provide liquidity to the global markets.
* Other participants include BNP Paribas, Circle Ventures, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Liberty City Ventures, Paxos, Polychain Capital, QCP, Republic Digital, and 7RIDGE.
This funding is intended to accelerate the adoption of institutional and decentralized finance on Canton Network, Digital Asset’s pioneering public, permissionless Layer-1 blockchain. The Canton Network is designed to offer configurable privacy and institutional-grade compliance at scale, a key feature that has attracted these major financial firms.
Several of the investors already have existing relationships with Digital Asset and are involved in the Canton Network or its Global Synchronizer Foundation, contributing to its governance, infrastructure, and decentralized app development. This investment highlights Wall Street’s increasing focus on leveraging blockchain technology to modernize financial infrastructure, particularly for use cases like global collateral mobility and the tokenization of real-world assets.
