We are recruiting for an Accounting Process Project Manager for a large finance firm located in New York City. This role would be responsible for the planning and implementation of a large transaction accounting project. The ideal candidate for this role would have strong familiarity with accounting as well as excellent knowledge of the trade lifecycle and financial controls and products.
Accounting Process Project Manager Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to test target architecture for particular platforms
Conduct front to end data feed testing
Ensure documentation is categorized and accurate for control evidence
Conduct reconciliations among income statements, profit and loss statements, finance data and general ledger
Identify discrepancies between transaction systems and general ledger
Provide support for daily and monthly control processes
Accounting Process Project Manager Requirements:
Bachelors degree and 5-7 years experience in finance or accounting
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Accounting or Finance major with Big 5 experience preferred
Knowledge of financial products and instruments
Familiarity with investment banking and trade life cycle
Proactive self-starter able to multitask and work within tight deadlines
Exposure to risk management or regulatory compliance preferred
Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
This opportunity is located in New York City and is offered at an annualized rate of $170,000 ($85 per hour). It is a project-based consulting position expected to last six months.
