We are seeking a Trust and Estate Paralegal for a large bank in Garden City, NY who will handle the administrative duties within wealth management. The ideal candidate for the role would have a good understanding of tax, legal and financial concepts as well as excellent issue resolution skills.
Trust and Estate Paralegal Responsibilities
Identify and implement terms of trust instruments and other related agreements
Communicate with accountants, attorneys and other parties to assist clients
Anticipate and respond to client issues and needs
Liaise with tax unit and provide counsel on income, estate, gift and other taxes for trust and beneficiaries
Manage and execute client bill payments, tax payments and other disbursements associated with the trust
Analyze relationships to ensure compliance with estate/trust terms
Trust and Estate Paralegal Requirements:
Bachelors degree, paralegal certificate and 2-3 years of trust experience required
Excellent understanding of applicable legal, financial and tax concepts preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office
Organized and efficient team player with good judgment
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
This Trust and Estate Paralegal position is a consulting opportunity at a top bank in Garden City, NY. It is offered at an annualized salary of $70,000 ($35 per hour) and is expected to last 5 months.
